New York deserved a better design than this. I've never liked it.
I agree, but at least it's not an UGLY generic tower. Things could be worse.

Wasn't that the case with the original WTC?

IMHO, it's alot better that it could have been. Just wait 'til the rest of it is finished, it'll be even better yet.

............WOW, lets hope no poor plane flies into a flock of geese and has to ditch into the Hudson River...or something, could end up nuked!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Stop making up lies, submarines don't shoot down planes last time I heard.......

I still don't understand why they can't just cut those panels on the edge to fit the old base design. Today's technology is so advanced but they can't cut this shit. If someone has some detailed illustrations of the base cladding, I'll be thankful if you show me.

Eh I feel like the old base design made the building look unstable, this is much much better! Also looks like they are also lifting another cooling tower to the roof.

Regular maintenance for a month....that's why the Oculus cam works fine, but they can't take the time to add the link back to their homepage.

My opinion: In-person, looking at the angled base from ground level was spectacular.

Bummer! I've watched all American Experience series about NY and he was in a few of them. He was a down to earth and a funny guy. Chris Ward reminded me a lot of him (and should still be running the PA).

R.I.P. Guy!

If anyone is interested, this is a great series particularly this one: New York: The Center of the World

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexpe...films/newyork/

I think I will watch it again tonight in honor of Guy Tozzoli.

EDIT: If you don't want to spend the $20 on the DVD, (worth it BTW) here is the link to youTube if interested.

It looks very similar to the base on 7WTC, just behind it.

Don't you read?
Routine maintenance is being performed at the building where the WTC cameras are mounted. During maintenance, the cameras had to be taken offline. Once maintenance is complete, they plan to get the cameras back online.

Glad to hear another segment has been lifted, once it reaches 1,425 feet I'll be able to see it from the Columbia Turnpike
