Does anyone know definitively if the mast is to be painted, and if so, what color? Or is this going to be the final finished look that we're seeing now? Thanks

Is the antenna scheduled to be finished first, or the cladding?(excluding the base)

I'm visiting NY for the first time mid-March and can't wait to see the tower in person

The Mast should be finished by then, weather permitting. There's already going to be a delay due to the coming Blizzard

The mast will finish before the glass.

A coating of what?
Will the mast be fireproffed? Seems a little silly not to considering everything else is.

I'd expect delays over the weekend. New York seems to be getting hit with a mega storm.

They just updated the accumulations for NYC:12-18 inches.Just last night it was 4-8 inches? Hopefully the snow totals don't start to rise.

I'd strongly recommend to check Carlos flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ceva321/), he took some gorgeous shots yesterday during the lifts..

Too bad he's still too proud to post them here again..

What? Yesterday that cone shaped piece was put in to make it 1,466 feet, wasn't that 6?

I can't wait to see pictures of the site buried in a foot of snow tomorrow. They'll be historic photos some day.

The cone was #6, but they put up 7A on top of it as well. Lots of progress on the mast yesterday ahead of the storm. There are some pics of 7A installed as well as the cranes lifting some of the temporary stairs to be used in the next sections to be installed.

Kinda funny no one has mentioned it, but if the mast is counted in the final height, right now at 1,476 feet, this is now taller than the Willis/Sears Tower.

Almost every photo on this thread is historic!

It's arguably one of the most famous sites (along with Statue of Liberty, ESB, NYSE, Times Square) in the best city in the world!

It's the World Trade Center!

It's New York!

New York, New York!

The world bows at her feet.

I was a child when 9/11 happened. It shaped my outlook on life. I measure time by that day. I love NYC with all of my heart. I am on SSC and SSP all day! I want to be mayor!

NYC = center of the world.
