was that the lightning rod that carlos posted 2-3pgs back, seems a little early for that, havn't seen it in anybodies renders or drawings. Also is the structure considered taller now than the tip of the antennae of ESB?

On topic-ish: the video render is at frame 258/1081 or 23% and is estimated to finish in 17:15:27 but it didn't stop going up until an hour ago. I'm postponing my planned release time to tomorrow afternoon.
On topic: I could have sworn that the camera showed the north crane in different positions this morning.

I think they allow the north crane to weathervane. So it'll move around if the wind is blowing hard and shifting around.

It was so nice to see the cams back up this morning. To bad nothing is happening up there though.

This may be a stupid question, but would it ever be possible in the future to put the radome on the antenna?

That is possible. But it won't be soon.

Yep. The top of the section containing the beacon is getting white metal panels so it will make the antenna/spire look extra top heavy. With the radome question, I suspect that the platforms for LED platforms that were also to hold the radome panels may have changed, but we'll see soon enough.

Another question about the antenna, I haven't been following it very closely. Will it have any kind of outdoor paint/coating to protect it from the elements? Or is it already currently made out of some kind of weatherproof galvanized material? Surely they will paint it with something? Or is what we see now what we are going to get?

Hello,
I have been reading this forum daily for months, and finally joined SSP. I am very happy to see how much progress has been made on this building, especially on the spire and cladding. One quick question:When is installation of the slotted glass on the SE and/or NW side expected to begin? It appears that the NE slotted glass is close to completion, though there was surely no glass put in today. Hopefully work can resume soon, and we can see some more progress. Prior to today, the pace of work was astonishing.

What date will this building officially open? What date will the observation deck officially open? It took 6 years to complete 1wtc & 4wtc, not bad! It will probably take another 3-4 years to build 2wtc & 3wtc, considering their foundations are fully complete. So around 2020 everything should look normal and settled in and we can enjoy, work, live and play in downtown nyc as intended.

Awesome pictures. Hopefully things can get going again soon.

The spire looks centered to me. I think you're looking at a spire section on top of the platform.

What you're looking at is a section that hasn't yet been attached to the center spire. So it is just sitting there on the scaffolding waiting to be attached that is why it looks off center. The spire WILL be centered! If you look carefully at some of the other pictures, you can clearly see the bottom part of the spire that have already been attached.
