Definitely.

I would characterize it more mast than antennae. Not a true spire, but I can see it being counted in the final height. Before I didn't, but seeing it for real, it does look more legitimate.

The radome certainly would've made it more graceful. It just looks to "mechanical" on the top.

Yeah, but when I come to the site and have to shift through hundreds of nonsense posts from the past few days to find bits and pieces of information, and it can be a pain. I did this so it was easier to find and read. Plus, I do care about post count as well. By the way, it's only 4.75/day, 4npower . Thanks for those kind words, though.

Anyway, it seems like even more base cladding has gone up since I posted. Thanks for the pic Dino.

I don't even really care about what they decide the "actual" height is. If I'm in the observation deck of Willis Tower, I'll be higher off the ground than someone in the observation deck of 1WTC.

But I digress, all this progress is awesome, considering the snail's pace we've had leading up to it. So excited to see the finish line coming up.

Honestly man, I don't even know where to find that information at lol. It just seems like every time I visit a thread, it is full of your posts, which like I said isn't a bad thing. You don't post nonsense and I can't recall you ever putting anyone down for what they post or causing senseless arguments, which is more then I can say for people that have been here forever, have tens of thousands of posts, and are well into adult hood. Btw, I predict a 2000+ post count for you within the next 60 days

I think the panels on the base look really nice. They are definately an asset to the tower. They'll look amazing once they are folded out. As far as the antenna goes, I'm still reserving judgment until it's finished, but I since they removed the radome part of the design, they should at least paint either the whole antenna or a few segments white to set it off & make it stand out better.

Alright, thanks Spectre.

Just checked progress again. A little progress was made on mechanical vent cladding on the SE side today. The NE side should finish up tomorrow or Wednesday.

Also, I found a view of the base from the West, and all of its netting is off, so it's set to begin being clad any day now. I also found a view of the North side of the base, but most of the netting is still on, so it'll be a while before it begins being clad.

Believe it or not, only 5. We've reached floor 100 of cladding!

The remaining floors to be clad are 100 & 101 (regular ceiling height) for the observation deck, floor 102 for the observation deck and a possible restaurant (double ceiling height), and then 103 & 104 for mechanical use (also double ceiling height).

I don't know if you know how the Chrysler Building became the world tallest, but both the Chrysler Building and the Burj Khalifa made their spire inside the building and raised it slowly to the final height.

I have been a big fan of this building from the beginning, but recent changes such as removing the radome enclosure from the antenna and squaring off the base have removed some of its most unique aspects. I will save my final judgement for when it is complete, but right now this antenna looks hideous.

Not sure about the Skytree, but I know that no helicopters were used with the Burj. It was assembled with cranes and then it was pushed up from inside to the final height!

I guess the heighest point of the cladding is a small row of that aluminium like plates what is on the corners.
