Another one of Pelli, but luckily this one doesn't look like Hong Kongs IFC at all.
He just designed another top.:P

Wow, I'm loving the spire and base cladding so far! Hopefully the weather won't slow down progress too much.

Does anybody know when the communication ring is supposed to be put in? I can't find anything about it on here or elsewhere. I would assume it will be there by the time the spire is complete, but I really have no idea. It will be interesting to see how the ring visually affects the completed spire.

By clear do you mean "noticeable" or "unnoticeable" like transparent?

section 313 is up on dog house, it was lifted late thursday. The rest is in NJ still being worked on and then when they arrive elctricans need a couple of weeks before they go up. Next portions of ring arrive and start going in, if we get crane time due to winds aloft.

313?

I'm surprised they didn't place #12 and lift temporary stairs yesterday. Winds were light (at least near the ground), temperatures fairly warm, and skies severe clear. The forecast is not so nice.

Me too. I'm surprised it hasn't been put up this morning. Just a few panels on the NE and SE side have been placed. Neither the base cladding nor the antenna have been touched.

Great shot! I've been wondering how cladding was managing on the NW side. I guess it'll be a while before it's put up.

Actually 5 hrs yesterday of the shift the crane could not operate due to winds. They also were busy torquing the spire bolts and changing the roping on the north crane from two part to single part.

But they did unload first sectioons of ring on late shift last night. They are on vessy street if you look using the KPI - TV near NE corner

One thing I've been wondering is when they'll start erecting the communications ring. Do you know, Alan?

Should go up this coming week if winds cooperate , so crane can clear spire to put in sections. But forecast this week is bad for 1500 ft agl, monday, tuesday winds way over 30mph, wed/thursday 25 or higher so doubtful, friday is forecast at 10-15mph but we may have snow.
