Kind of ironic that "Controversy" is posting really nice photos, instead of, you know, more controversy.

But I never see you complain about those kinds of posts....

The spire is going to create a lot of complaints and those complaints are grounded on the fact that this travesty completely destroys this building's architectural aesthetics.

You really need to DEAL WITH IT.

The most offtopic posting in the last pages is your "crusade" against people who express their disappointment over a very important part of the building's construction.
Finally someone said it. Constant complaining and constant praising both aren't discussion. They're opinions. Yes, they might get a little annoying. But it's OK as long as those opinions are about 1WTC. Cause they are on topic.

However, complaining about people compaining is off topic. So please just shut the **** up about it already. You don't agree with someone's opinion? Just ignore them and move on.

Also, I have been here for over 6 years now and this (completely off topic) comment is my very first comment here. It's because I don't want to fill this thread with useless crap. More people should follow my example. Specially the people who think they have to quote comments with giant photos, only to add some shit like: "OOOOH SOOO BEAUTIFUL YOU GUISEE!!1 "

Anyway, I'll just shut up now. Let's move on guys. Let the photo's, discussion, and opinions come!

Has the 13th section been placed on the antenna? Because a couple of days ago I noticed a section sitting on the platform.

Meanwhile this side of the base has four floors cladded. The corner parts are much higher.

If you let me, I'll calmly explain something to you.

1) I never quoted his pictures. I said his name to keep from recycling pictures.

2) Controversy is a new member here, and all I was trying to do was encourage him to keep posting some great pics.

3) I said I found it funny because I did. I was trying to lighten the mood with a joke to keep people from flaming. We can have fun here too you know.

4) Every day, you'll see me give updates on the antenna, the mechanical cladding, and the base cladding, usually mornings and afternoons. I don't see how I'm too off topic with my posts, as that's something I try to avoid.

Try to have a little fun on the forum and get to know people better. It makes the experience much, much better.

Thanks for posting that pic Tim. I think they've put up another two or three levels of corner base cladding since yesterday morning, while the main face hasn't changed for several days . The base cladding on the SE corner looks to be 12 levels up, which means it's now over 150 feet off the ground!

No visible antenna or mechanical cladding progress today.

WTC Progress

One WTC has some of the world’s largest elevator motors tipping in at 50,000 pounds each.

I think that the mast would look better without these ring platforms. But, if the radome was cancelled because it was too hard to maintain, then, what's the purpose of having these ring platforms in every section above the 5 one ?

Among other things, they will hold the Light fixtures that light it up at night. The smaller platforms with the yellow pieces are only temporary and will be removed at some point. Only the platforms with the silver guardrails are permanent. Hope that helps!
