So if I understand correctly, the floors are numbered like this:

1-6 – tower base (including 60ft tall lobby and 5 mechanical floors)
* 20-63 – offices
* 64 – sky lobby
* 65-88 – offices
* 89-90 - Broadcast
* 91-93 - mechanical
* 100-101 – Restaurant
* 102 Observation Deck
* 103-104 – mechanical floors
* 105 - Roof
* 106 - Cooling tower catwalks
* 107-109 Communications Rings

But why is there no floors 7-19 or 94-99?

On 9/11 the plane struck Tower 1 from floors 93-99, so that could be an explanation for the top floors, but what about the base?

Gosh that antenna on top is a tiny little stick. It just has no heft to it at all.

This tower is significantly undersized. Welcome and better than nothing but really undersized. I think we need WTC 2 asap so that the lower Manhattan skyline can be largely restored because WTC1 alone just doesn't cut the mustard.

The road in this pic and "Park Avenue" are some of the cleanest and best roads I've seen for NYC...
So many that I've seen offer a bumpy ride...

You are looking at 1 wtc mast half way done there are still the last 6 sections to be installed , 1 wtc mast maybe skinny buy its is no way going to be tiny.

If I'm looking at the pictures correctly, they have installed portions of the window washing track... Not any of the 3 large communication rings.

If that's just the base for the communications ring it's really going to be huge. I see that the pointy thing in the middle is getting a lot taller as well (notice I didn't use the "a" word or the "s" word ). You know one thing I've wondered about is what all of the communications equipment at the top of the 1WTC is really going to do for New York City that they don't already have. Does the construction of a building that's so much taller than the surrounding buildings block off the line of sight for a number of them so that it has to be relocated to the higher structure in order to function? Just curious. I hope my question makes sense.

Can anyone with insight explain what equipment we're looking at in the communication ring image? Will any of the equipment currently on the Empire State Building move to 1WTC?

Would love to see the ESB returned to this:

You can tell it's for the base because the rings will be much wider.

I think it was a bigger shock for the people in 1953 when the antenna was added.

Will the little mini microwave dishes be installed on the communications rings as well or will they be installed later? Whoever is in charge of the antenna/spire situation has in my opinion dropped the ball. I hope they are working on a alternate design. This piece is too integral to the building for them to ignore. The building design at no point had the antenna without a covering. I'm assuming a resolution is being worked on.

New York is not some unheard of city in China. It doesnt need tacky, wasteful lighting to assert its significance. And if you think the city looks abandoned at night I have doubts youve ever actually seen it after the sun sets. All you had to do was look back a page or two at the pictures there to understand why such a claim is entirely unfounded.
