I don't think when you say "...... is the most beautiful place i've ever seen", you'd mean the place is more beautiful than your girl...
Do you think you love a place like you love a girl???

Don't think there will be progress with 55-60 mph gusts tomorrow through Friday. Although I'm going to Hoboken to get some storm shots

Just a simple survey if you could have one back, would it be the original joint antennae, or the chinese take-out base? I'd take the radome.. Also how the hell is that window washing track supposed to clean the structure, is it meant to clean the top windows, some of the windows, or all the windows,, this thing baffles me.. Anybody got any insight on what that actually does and how it does it, I mean it's within the perimeter of the bldg itself, how is it used to clean windows????? This is no joke,, this is a serious as hell question,, I have no Idea how that could work...

It's the Staten Island Ferry terminal, above the observation deck.

Every American TV channel will broadcast the topping out ceremony, with Bloomberg being emotional and talking about the height of 1776 feet and then BANG - the CTBUH declares the building as 1373 feet a day after lol. Actually I'm rooting for that scenario.

I don't care one way or the other about the height. I was always going by roof height anyway, but yeah, I can see the headlines all over New York as the CTBUH slaps the building with a much less symbolic 1373 feet classification. Should've built a taller roof, guys!

The only thing I don't like is how office floors only go to floor 90. They should have had them go to at least floor 100. Then have the observation floors then the mechanical(I know the top last floors are Mech.) They Should have put the mechanical levels at the top to the bottom or something...

Latest update with a bunch of photos! Base cladding, the mundane but pretty tower, and the heinous antenna.

Yea the height doesn't bother me as much because we are going to have 2 supertall towers taller than 1 WTC (roof height) anyway. It would be nice if CTBUH would count the spire after the constuction is done but i'm not holding my breath. 1 WTC is shaping up into a beautiful iconic skyscraper that will grace our amazing city! However the antenna/spire does bother me. Wish it was the original design but understand that it would be impossible to maintain. I just hope what is going up is not the final look and Hopefully they can come up with something to add on the spire/antenna asthetics wise.
