No? Why would you think that?

They are busy today working on the squaring off of the NE side of the base. And cranes are active as well, lifting parts which belong to the communications ring, I assume.

Communications Ring work being done today! I guess this weekend is catch-up time after this week of weather delays.

I thought the cams were going down? Whatever yay that they haven't also good progress today only the northwest corner is left to square off!

P.S. I am going to try to get a pic up at some point but they have been for at least 45 min now trying to put a window in where the west elevator used to be so I am assuming they are starting that side.

That is the old design. The current base will have vertical corners

Not sure if someone was being wise replying to my question, but is there really going to be a huge beacon ontop of the new WTC? I never heard of that...because if so you will definitely see it at night from the Robert Moses Bridge 40 miles away. You could see the smoke on 9/11 from there.

You know what that looks like? The flying elevator thing at the end of the original Willy Wonka movie with Gene Wilder.

Just the KPI TV cams went down. That is, they are no longer updating. But the archives are still there, for now. The Earthcam cameras are maddeningly unreliable, but there have been no announcements of them going away permanently.

Several weeks ago they removed the north mast from the east hoist. I just noticed that they have put most of it back! Why would they take it down only to add it back?

Today it's about half way up the mechanical floors:

Could it mean they are preparing to dismantle the cranes within the nest few months?

Can someone explain why they decided to square off the base? I like the cladding change enough, but the base looked so much better in the renderings with the bevelled corners.
