Yes... But I think it's for security or something.

BTW, the observation deck of the old WTC was on tower 2 right?

That grassy area between 1 and 3 looks like an afterthought. The Sphere should be returned to that location.

What's wrong with that photo? It is a unique and different perspective. You seem offley judgmental about it. I personally think it's a neat photo and would love to see more in that perspective once the complex is complete

I like the way the ESB looks so tiny like it's in the lower Manhattan amidst those buildings, in the last pic.

You mean the grassy area between 1 and 2 WTC (Temporary Path station), right? Because that's were a future Performing Arts Center will be located.

That article is pretty old.... There will be no outdoor/roof observation deck ontop of 1 WTC, and it won't be the same height as the South Tower observation was.

The photo is being photoshopped.. just look at the base, you won't be able to get a perspective like that in reality

Speaking of the beacon light, it will flash the letter " N " for New York in morse code.

I did not know that. When and why did they decide against the observation deck? Will it still include an observation space indoors?

There was never going to be an outdoor observation deck, due to the radiation from the equipment on the communications ring. An observation deck will be indoors:100-101floors.
*Edit* The N morse has also been removed from the mast.

All credit goes to Otie.

^ Interesting and thanks for the clarification.

Glad there will still be a observatory. With Hudson Yards North having one there will be 4 amazing vantage points to view this city.

1) 1 WTC
2) Hudson Yards North
3) Rockefeller
4) Empire State Building

Personally, When all these amazing skyscrapers come to completion here in the city, I still think Top of the Rock will offer the best views of the city because you would see all of the city's best skyscrapers such as ESB and WTC complex looking downtown. Hudson Yards to the west and finally views of Nordstrom Tower, Tower Verre, One57 and 432 PA looking North with beautiful central park as the back drop.

Can i just sleep and wake up in 2018?
