Is it me, or did they remove that plywood kind of stuff behind the mechanical floor windows? I think I'm seeing more lights!

I am not sure if it's been mentioned here, but the concrete in this tower is the strongest concrete used in a public building up till now, stronger than that used in nuclear reactor containment buildings. Essentially making this tower hijacked-plane proof. Other towers in NYC are also being constructed using this formulation, but i'm not sure which.

The fact that this is counted to spire height is too much for him.

I talked with him last month. He had said that there were heavy blizards in Slovakia, and that weather was really messing with his schedule. Also, he and his wife recently had a kid, so he most likely is spending the majority of his time with his child. Lastly, he said he'd be trying to get into an engineering course at a local university, so maybe he is taking classes right now. I'm not sure which of the three it is.

When did they decide to call it a spire ? Surely they wouldn't call that antennae a spire.

One World Observatory

http://www.governor.ny.gov/press/031...servation-Deck
-The winning design for One World Observatory, submitted by Legends, will take visitors on a dynamic journey that tells the story of New York City and One World Trade Center as guests ascend to the top of the iconic skyscraper to enter the observation deck.

One World Observatory will provide visitors with spectacular views of New York City and the surrounding region from 1,250 feet high in the air. The venue is projected to draw an estimated 3.8 million annual visitors to the top of what is the tallest building in New York and soon will be the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere.

How exactly will this be the tallest structure in the western hemisphere when the CN Tower is clearly taller than this building?

And the fact they got rid of the radome covering the antenna, means the antenna's height will not be counted and thus this building is not even the tallest in USA as Sears Tower is still taller.

This building is more significant and will be known by a much larger number of people throughout the world than the CN Tower upon completion. Therefore, it will seem to many more people to be the largest structure in the western hemisphere.

Turns out that using shadows makes renders take nearly SIXTY (60) times longer than shading only. While the visual effect is very nice, the opportunity cost is way too much. I have two computers running simultaneously overnight on the more complex renders. In the morning I'll start the next two. The first sequence consists of a thirty second pan up the side then a thirty second pan down the side of the spire in a sixty second long video. the second video is an upward spiral with a pan down from the top totaling two minutes, fourteen seconds. As currently planned, both scene set ups will have three styles in individual videos for a total of six videos. The styles are actual color, colored-by-section (minus temporary platforms), and colored-by-section with transparency (minus temporary platforms). If I get any great ideas, I'll render additional videos of the spire. Had I used shadows, It would take three days per minute of video, so I will never export an animation with shadows of the spire again. I hope you guys enjoy the final product. I'll upload the entire batch at once, on Sunday at the latest.

Please be respectful to others, I'm not trying to create an argument but if you don't have anything nice to say then please keep it to yourself, I found your post quite disrespectful. I presume you're an adult and if that is the case then I'm so much more younger than you it's incredible. Treat others in a manner consistent with the severity of your own transgressions, and please don't reply back to me repeating yourself again.
