Lol oops I should have worded that better I meant no windows as in Windows on the World which was the name of the old restaurant in the North Tower. I'm hopeful the new restaurant will at least be rememisant to it and not a concession area...they are saying there will be a restaurant now even though it was axed a few years ago but we shall see!

-The winning design for One World Observatory, submitted by Legends, will take visitors on a dynamic journey that tells the story of New York City and One World Trade Center as guests ascend to the top of the iconic skyscraper to enter the observation deck.

One World Observatory will provide visitors with spectacular views of New York City and the surrounding region from 1,250 feet high in the air. The venue is projected to draw an estimated 3.8 million annual visitors to the top of what is the tallest building in New York and soon will be the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Wow! that looks nice! I hope that's only the scratch of the surface.

The observatory will have holographic displays? Or are those just the usual McDonald's stickers all over the glass like in most capitalist countries?

I do hope that the observation deck keeps references to 9/11 at a bare minimum, if not totally nonexistent. The memorial is there for mourning and reflection. Keep the observation deck a forward-looking, positive experience.

Agreed. I think they should just leave all the 9/11 references down at ground level at the memorial museum.

Someone previously mentioned that the Restaurant at the top had been decided, and called it a glorified fast food restaurant. I looked all through this thread and on the internet and could find no reference as to what that restaurant would actually be. Could someone please enlighten me?

The new render of the observatory is god awful. If we cant see the statue of liberty because a political ad or greasy cheeseburger is in the way I'll be beyond pissed.
"So, son, what was your favorite part?"
"The cartoon."

The last of nine renders is an hour from completion. The total size is just over four and a half gigabytes and twelve minutes. I'll start typing titles and descriptions In a word document to simplify the upload process. All of these renders will be given a Creative Commons license. There is a small chance that one or more of these could find their way onto a television screen. It's way to early to give specifics. I hope you guys enjoy it.

indeed. the pools are so much more important to those who want to remember given they're the old twins footprints.

those memorial elements on the observation deck look really tacky

That would be really bad for business if they kept 9.11 stickers up and plastered everywhere... Everyone will be freaked out to be there.

I doubt they'll have 9/11 videos up there, they have a museum for all that...

No, I hate that particular group of people. All they do, or did was exploit that issue, as an excuse to cause trouble.
