Beautiful view but Poor NYCrulz sees sth else too. The litters in NYC streets upset him and this time i am seeing it too. Thanks to his signature.
Now i wind up to thinking litters indeed destroy the actual beauty of NYC.

He used to post his photos here, but quit when a moderator told him not to use colored fonts.

There is no litter in this picture. The white stuff is snow, and it is melting so you can see the water heading towards the gutter. NY does have its fair share of litter on the streets, but I have seen it a lot worse in other cities.

3D!?
(click on the youtube logo to go to the video on youtube and there you will get the 3d option)

I knew I kept these red/blue glasses in my desk drawer for something. Awesome!

The effect worked well for the shaded renders but my brain couldn't lock focus on line drawings in red/blue 3D.

Nice Video if you haven't seen it yet. It shows what the complex will look like when it is all completed. Looking forward for 2 & 3 WTC to commence soon.
It's not a promo, the video is a reel sequence of dbox studio for Discovery's documentary. The animation is aviable at their website.

I really hope that the mast ends up being counted as an antenna just because I think counting a 120m spire into the height of a building is just silly ESPECIALLY considering 1WTC's a flattop. The Ping'an tower has a ridiculously large spire but at least the building's not a flattop...and it's spire still isn't even as big as 1WTC's.

This is my .02 cents in regard to what will be the official height of the WTC will be... If CTBUH allow the spires of the NYTimes Tower and the Bank of America to be included as the official height, then i see no problem that they will include the spire for WTC to be included as well.

I know that they say it has to be an architectural element but even without the Radome, this spire to me is definitely an element to the 1WTC design.

It is my understanding that the reason they say they abandoned the Radome was because it would be impossible to maintain.

I know that the people responsible for the re-designing of the spire believe that the new design would still be counted.... but if they would want to erase any doubt of the legitimacy of the spire. Couldn't they use the same materials that is used on NYTimes and BOA building that had been accepted by the counsil of tall buildings? It seems to me whatever materials the Times and BOA used seem to be giving them no problems at all maintaining.

I bet you everything I own that they will count it as a spire... Almost everyone who doesnt really follow this knows the height of this is supposed to be 1,776 just because of how much they have pushed it since the design process. I would be completely shocked if they didn't. Besides it IS part of the tower...so I don't see how they can say it isn't when it's clearly not a functioning antenna, the only function it will have will be the beacon and LEDs, and eventually it will just have antennas attached to it.

Exactly! I share your belief 1000%. Keeping fingers crossed. This tower has always been one of my least favorite from the WTC renderings but actually seeing it and looking at the photos posted here, she is growing on me BIG time. 1 WTC is beautiful, even if they never built a spire on this thing. Easily my favorite skyscraper in NYC for NOW. lol

I actually made a 2D video and YouTube made it 3D, but I'm considering making an actual 3D video by making two renders with the view points 2.5 inches apart and then stitching them together. I just didn't have the time. For fun I briefly considered a render in 4K but all my movements would have to be slowed down to avoid eye strain and the file size would be several gigabytes per minute. I still might set up a 3D render another day.
