I love this building so much! Too bad so many criticize it. Oh well. People are entitled to their opinions.

I really hope that the mast ends up being counted as an antenna just because I think counting a 120m spire into the height of a building is just silly ESPECIALLY considering 1WTC's a flattop. The Ping'an tower has a ridiculously large spire but at least the building's not a flattop...and it's spire still isn't even as big as 1WTC's.
i think its true height of 417m will make it about the worlds ten tallest?in 2013

10th position is way too below in the skyscrapers height rating. I am thinking it is in the 5th position. That is my bad!

It was well above the old design

It was both elegant and modern

A reconstruction, with the original design, it would be nothing wrong, the plans are there, just a matter of removing it and decide they want to build now, which I think has a very current (One WTC)

The reason they didn't want to rebuild the twin towers because it would just bring more pain to those who lost loved ones in the towers.

Don't you think if he wanted that to be public info... He would have posted this publicly himself???? He didn't.. And I know he doesn't use this forum but on SSP he told me his plans months ago, and told me not to tell a soul.. Except for a few that he met and talked to. Just saying?

Speaking of Kanto I miss the roof height crusader, he gets banned from time to time, hopefully he'll be back soon, but this is the longest pause in his post's I've seen in awhile. I hope it's not 3 strikes and you're out.. Or then we gotta worry about him... Come back Kanto..

[QUOTE=oli83;101431021]I think that ice from the spire would most likely drop down directly onto the roof, because ice is too heavy to be blown away far enough by the wind. However, the winds are pretty strong up there, so maybe you're right and it could be a problem.

You know what would solve this F*&$ing problem, just like they had occasionally with the North Antennae,,, IF THEY BUILT THE SPIRE THAT WAS INITIALLY PLANNED. This is gonna happen a lot, with this new antennae during the winter months,, The Ice will break lose, and travel blocks (pushed by 30-40 mph wind gusts), and possibly hurt or kill somebody.. The initial radome, was smooth probably wouldn't have those problems.. But if a chunk of Ice falls off that bitch decapitates a pedestrian, I think Durst Bag will have 2nd thoughts of saving 20 million,, when the family sues for 100 million. Just something to think about, this new top has A lot of places for Ice to build up and cling to, and hang around until a 50 mph gust of wind sends it flying like an ax. You expect them to shutdown 1WTC everytime, there's Ice buildup on the antennae,, because that would be a massive area to shut down,,, and an Umbrella ain't gonna do it..

The radome was not smooth idk what your thinking of and this isn't the first time it's ever happened in New York and it won't be the last...it's not a big deal.

Actually, 9/11 families wanted the towers rebuilt, as did 90% of america according to public polls.
