Looks like they installed it to that other piece that arrived a few days ago.
So deformed. You can see the top bit was designed for the old spire design.

The CN Tower will still be the tallest free standing structure in the Western Hemisphere by 23 feet.

Carlos just moved to Florida.

I am so disappointed in this tower. I loved the design but now the new base clashes with the tower and the spire is such a let down! You can all pretend that the new spire is fine but it's a damn shame to look at. A 1980s spire on a modern building (shaking my head). The diamond cut case was a nice modern touch. This would never have happened to a modern building in other parts of the world

To me it is unexcusable that after building such an expensive tower in such a symbolic place, which has been the focus of the U.S. for such a long time, that the builders decide to cheapen off the original plans for the spire, which looked so graceful and fittingly powerful in the renders.

This is a disgrace, and I hope people would start a petition so that this antenna is covered. Heck, it looks so thin it might not even be seen from far, and it looks so ugly it doesn't stand up to the tower. It is a farce and a stain on a very significant project.

Some of things you just said i agree with, and some of the others things you said are of matter of opinion, and as for 1 wtc mast visibility i live in sea gate Brooklyn which is about 12 miles away and i see 1 wtc mast just fine.

Seriously though, who cares if the CN Tower is taller by a little bit. I could care less about that Tower. I really don't even care if they count the spire or not. New York has its skyline back and that's what we so desperately needed. If the Twin Towers were still standing they would still be behind the Willis Tower in height to the rooftop. If they really wanted to go taller they would have made this thing 2,000 feet. It's fine as it is. I wish there was an outdoor observation deck but three indoor observation floors is good enough for me.

Listen people most of us on this forum are architectural enthusiast, here is an analogy it's like right now in the comic book world people are complaining about how Dr Octopus has taking over Spiderman body so they are going around asking to boycott and make petitions against , marvel comics and saying how it is an outrage while most of the world does not give a crap, that's how it is with 1 wtc mast no one cares, the vast majority of people will never know about the radome enclosure, so enough with the silliness of boycotting and doing petitions, because just like Dr Octopus has taking over Spiderman body nobody cares.

I am not saying that New York is better, All I'm Saying is if us New Yorkers wake up in the morning and go to bed at night seeing 1 wtc mast in person ,and some of us are a lest trying to except the way things are so can you.listen i have known people who have died on 9/11 i remember the ash on my window sill and the smell of the smoke from the attack which reek my house for days, yes it was a huge disappointment to me right from the start with the decision not to rebuild the twins and all the way to the removal of the radome ,but i have moved on please don't tell me that you can not do the same.
