I noticed in an earlier post the tip of the spire has been lifted to the top. Any clue when the spire erection will continue?

Looks like they installed it to that other piece that arrived a few days ago.
I think I know already how they will claim 541m as the official height. The tip is clearly architectural so it'll probably count but I have to say it's probably the cheapest way of reaching official height they could find (as if the spire itself wasn't)

The temp. loading dock on the east side is being deconstructed as well as the scaffolding on the north side by the Barclay Building. I didn't notice this until now.

He misses out a lot of factors leading to the prices and the changes of design, eg. he does not address the price of land and the construction workers compared to Burj Khalifa and does not address the maintence issue of the radome (something Childs should have offered a solution to).
Also, the base wasn't freeflowing to begin with, and the actual reasons for squaring it off/changing the cladding weren't addressed either.

What's with you and autism? It's, like, every fifth comment of yours calls someone autistic.

And it's not even that, it's just that his case isn't fully presented.

Why is the base cladding is taking so long?

Sorry but that video strikes me as snobby and self centered; his body motions, showing off the background, wearing a nice bath robe....i respect the point however

actually I agree with his opinion. In fact I believe that if they took the old spire design and gave it to somebody and told him "try an fack this up as badly as you can", he would still have a difficult job to actually make it as fugly as it is now...

which is a shame because this tower is otherwise amazing... but hey... they HAD to put that turd of an antenna on top because of a few millions and the supposed... "security" issues...
