Now as for the 'spire' thats just something that needs to be improved on sometime soon...

But the spire is not what makes the tower, you see the structure it self, and its amazing I dont see why people hate it! its the only think like it. Where else do you see a giant 1,776 foot mirror?
I completely agree with you!

I have been to the WTC Memorial on two occasions, so yes I have seen it in person. Definitely better in person, but I still don't love it they way I loved the former World Trade Center. The boldness and majestic qualities the former had, the current just doesn't possess with the architectural qualities of it.

So you really like it? There's something kind of plasticy or jellybean-like about these new lights - especially when they're doing the rotating colors thing like tonight... As much as I try to keep an open mind, I'm just not loving it....

Btw, I'm back so I updated my diagram, based on the most recent photos. The current pinnacle height of the building is 477 meters or 1565 feet (if you measure it from the lowest entrance it's 479 meters or 1571 feet). I won't give figures for the ring though because I don't have an official diagram or plan of it but from what I've seen on photos it looks like one third of it is assembled

Roof height used below

2WTC is atm on hold and has only one floor above ground. I'm putting only buildings with multiple floors above ground which are u/c in my diagram. That's why I don't have there 56 Leonard and the Coach Tower either

Btw, seeing a reflective glass cald skyscraper in a sunset is a mystical experience indeed

SO, the original renders on page 1 show dark areas at the top mechanical levels. The render above shows lighted mechanical levels. I wonder which will happen?
* will they be 100% dark?
* will they be 100% lighted?
* will they be partially lighted to simulate other office floors?

It looks gorgeous when the one of the triangles catches the light, like in the last pic. One of my fave supertalls no doubt about it.

My bet is that they will be lighted because I can imagine that 1WTC and ESB will wage a big war for the title of the most famous NYC building and since ESB has very unique and intricate lighting they definitely won't want their building to sit in the dark (literaly, LOL )

The 2002 model year autos in the USA featured higher door jams, lower windows, with smaller window areas.

The cars began to 'hunker down' and look like bunkers, and this design artifact continues even today in USA autos.
