If it's not finished up by the time your there(spire and cladding)then this project will officially be a joke and a half...

How would you know? Have they opened them yet? No! You should know by now that renders never do anything justice. Wait and see before you make comments like this.

Sorry but, what do you mean by "extended", I don't understand.

I already like the cladding like that but if you tell me that's going to be better:

It means there will be fins placed in those gaps, and they will protrude from the base cladding outward from the base a few feet.

It'll be cool knowing I'm one of the first people to see the exterior completed.

I think it will look much better this way than what it is now. I'm holding judgment until then.

Indeed! For me it's kind of a drag since I work downtown I see it everyday and it looks the same...so when it finally finishes up it will be nice to look at it every day without the cranes and expossed steel and such...

You're so lucky. I can't wait to get out of here and move to New York, but unfortunately, I'm stuck here for at least 3 more years.

It's also visible above midtown from the Bronx.

Oh, and I see no reason for the cladding to stop. There are only 2 or 3 more floors to go, so they should finish up very soon, at least by mid-May.
I hope you're right. This has been so ridiculously slow. OMG

I'll be in NYC in 13 days. I never got to see the original WTC. I planned on visiting NYC on Sept 22nd, but obviously those plans changed. The Twins were the first place I had on my list to visit. I've been waiting years to the new 1WTC. Can't wait to be awed! Have tickets to the memorial and just order an awesome new camera lens. Expect awesome pictures in a few weeks everyone!

Oops, I meant to say the exterior should be about finished by then. I should have clarified.

I know I was there! Pictures absolutely dont do it justice, I nearly fell backwards in astonishment when I came out of the Lower Manhattan subway. It was the most dominating feeling I've ever felt

^Agreed. That's why I always laugh when people say its not as dominating as the twins were, when in fact it is! People tend to forget there were two of them which is what gave them more of a humongous look.

I hope you're right. Only when the cladding reaches top will the building truly look like it should look

I am excited about the observation deck in 1WTC. I visited the indoor and outdoor observation deck of the original World Trade Center on 9/9/2001. It was an amazing experience! You can see photos from my visit here: http://www.anotherpartofme.com/photo...eck-on-992001/
