Even if it is not tinted green, it definitely appears greener that the rest of the tower's glass, probably because of the metal. If you compare it to the 9 11 museum, which is true silver, there is a huge difference.

At the base of 1 WTC, also called the "podium," the special louvered glass panels are complete on the south side of the building, and crews are now beginning installation on both the east and west sides.

Good update on lowermanhattan.info. Nice to hear tower 5 is also "on hold" instead of cancelled like some forumers insisted...I knew they wouldn't just abandon it they own the site...btw do you guys really think they will complete the spire by the end of the month like it says? I'm thinking the first two weeks or so of May...

I assume it's in honor of the Central Park Conservancy, which celebrated the beginning of Spring in the city with a fireworks display in the park. The Empire State Building also lit up green last night in its honor.

I just want 2 WTC to be built. It will complement 1wtc greatly and I believe people underestimate its impact on the skyline. I think it could very well help the complex to dominate as much as the old twins. Also in my opinion the swfc base looks better.

Can't believe they lifted it today, right after a thunderstorm, rather than in the beginning of the week when the weather was superb.

I guess they had to finished first the part of the communication rings which is opposite to the cranes. With this being done, I assume the remaining pieces will be erected pretty fast.

This is probably the last piece they can put in before they jack up the crane correct? It seems after this the spire will be to tall for the crane...I could be wrong though...
