Friday brought rain and low visibility in the NYC area. With Thursday's sudden additions to the spire, Could the remaining pieces go up as soon as this Monday?

since they landed these two sections, it seems like they painted out of the corner with the communications ring steel.

i would guess that if the remaining pieces are ready to go in, there would not be anything to hold them up other than weather or a discrepancy

Great shots nyrulz but do you know if that will be the final look between the base cladding, and building cladding,, (not good with an illustrator), but I think you know and get what I'm saying.. What appears to be red brick AND windows right now, will that be covered with another type of material, It' hard to think that's the final look???

I think he means where the base cladding meets the tower cladding. Redish looking squares.

I believe that from what I read somewhere that those pieces of glass were not initially installed so the scaffolding could be mounted to the top of the base. I believe that the scaffolding will not be removed until most of the base is complete? Can anyone back that up?

Just sat here and watched undercover boss on the dvr with the wife. They showed 1WTC a few times as well as the ESB. Also had a glimpse of One57 towards the end. Pretty boring show but seeing 1WTC at the beginning kept me glued to the tv Wife said it was a new episode with ADT security if anyone is interested.

Those are sheets of plywood in place of the final glass panels.

Bigreach!!
Right! I'm getting you and I'd say there's no way that it is the final look between the base cladding and the building cladding. I think we'll get some idea about the future-look once the base cladding gets done on all sides. Anyways there'll be no superficial untidy non-aligned look between what you're saying.
Btw, RotoSequence has answered you too!!

Hi everybody, first time poster - long time reader.

Somebody earlier commented on David Child's design of 1 WTC glass facade and the similarities with the original twin towers. I can't find the post (back about 10-20 pages or so) but I can say that poster was correct in his observation/speculation. In fact, David Child's explains as much in the documentary Rebuilding Ground Zero on how the design inspiration originated from the old twin towers chamfered corners. I was able to find the clip online. Fast forward to the 3:47 mark here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnb98Cm2pzI

Now for a few questions I hope forum members can answer. The first question, will the finished base of the communication rings look like the following?

image hosted on flickr

Second question, couldn't the tint on the base cladding have been made to mirror the original design in color?

Thanks for any feedback. Like I said earlier, long time fan who appreciates the passion and information brought to this forum. To the moderators and established forum members, thanks for keeping a lid on all of the truther chatter. Having grown up in the northeast and lived in NYC; I just want to say the Big Apple has a special place in my heart as did the twin towers which I sorely miss. I will close with the following that I like new the WTC designs but I also think that at some point in the future, maybe in a generation, I would like to see towers return to the NYC landscape.

Looks like another section is up on the platform, presumably #14.

Does anyone else agree that the new 1WTC looks so much taller than the old buildings despite being exactly the same height?
