I just drove over the Robert Moses Bridge but couldn't see anything. It was clear out, but the thing that sucks is there are tree lines, oil rigs, etc. that can appear as a distant skyline or building and it's hard to differentiate. It's either being blocked on the horizon, or I'm looking in the wrong spot for the WTC. Driving south towards Robert Moses State Park on the bridge I look to my right out the passenger window. Is this correct?! I know 38 miles on a straight line means it should be visible right now but didn't see anything standing out on the horizon.

Nice, Chapelo.

Also sad to hear what happened in Boston today, people can be sick and heartless.

Are the parts of the antenna that extend outward where the sections meet one another part of the final design or are they just temporary platforms upon which the workers stand? I imagine this has been asked dozens of times but I haven't see it discussed.

Wow! Nice Chapelo! Good find! It's so shiny!
Can't wait to see it on top of the building!

It looks strange on the video, is it turning?

You will! 38 miles may seem not that far but it really is hard to spot something. It takes time for me to see it from just 25

Everyone has an opinion,, your's is an opinion and I respect that,, but ST's roof and add on,, are not atrocious,, It was obviously planned before the building was built, not 1WTC, they changed it during the last phases of construction,, and I'm pissed about it too. But you really can't think ST is Ugly,, it's cladding is similar to 1wtc, flawless and seamless. If jealousy is the case,, believe me I'm pissed about it too, China, they just keep popping up megatalls everywhere,, we get nothing because of 9-11,, a lot of ppl don't want to work in bldgs that tall anymore,, ( I personally would love an office on the 110th floor, but a lot of ppl aren't like us skyscraper fans), because of the height, however if you really want to hate on a bldg, than Ping An is the one, it has NY written all over it... That's 1 of the reason's Chicago's megatall ( although that was a residence) is dead!! the spire,, but Wuhan is building a similar shaped tower, just not all "twisty"

Did you mean at night with the light ontop, or the building on a clear day in daylight? Every time I go over the bridge I look for it furiously trying not to get into an accident and keeping my eyes on the road! I think from the Fire Island lighthouse it will be simple to see the full building given the high elevation, but from the bridge there are still some things in the way. If the area by the bridge was 1,000 ft in the air you could probably see the entire NYC skyline perfectly! Too bad LI isn't hilly like Jersey where you can get tons of views of it.

By the way the lighthouse is 170 ft tall, so I assume I will have no problem seeing the WTC and the rest of the big guys like ESB on a clear day!
