The communication ring is looking more silver than I had expected. It's really nice!

That is about all you can see of the communication ring in that view. It alone is shiny, and yet it is on the underside. It was about 1:05 PM, so something on that roof is very shiny!

Everyone I meet from NJ has zero NJ pride...they just want to live off NYC's image. Even in commercials for cars they show the city with all the boroughs and the surrounding areas then at the end it shows "Welcome to New Jersey" signs. Huh?

That's another state and culture. Nothing against NJ, just annoys me when they want to be seen as New Yorkers even though they are in another state. Everyone I meet from NJ introduces themselves by telling me how close to the city they are. IMO they should just have pride in NJ because that is their real state. They have their own major cities like Newark, Jersey City, and Paterson so technically I consider people from North Jersey to be from suburbs of those cities. Does anyone else notice this? I would feel really awkward being from NY but representing NJ all the time. Again nothing against NJ, just something I've noticed...sorry for the rant!

You must have a very charmed life if it takes shit as trivial as that to 'annoy' you.

Look how tiny 1 WTC is in comparison!

I love how people still believe that 9/11 was the death of the tall building, yet, every one of the top 20 is post 9/11. Only 1, Taipei 101, was started before 9/11. Thankfully, modern advances in materials, structural connections, and fireproofing keep these buildings safe as they get taller.

Alright, this may seem like a silly question, but why is it taking so long to finish the glass cladding on 1 WTC and 4 WTC? It seems like progress is horribly slow.

Also, is it possible that someone could manipulate this photo and add all the future construction and proposed skyscrapers to it? WTC Complex, Tower Verre, Hudson Yards, Brookfield, 225 West 57 th Tower, 105 57th, 432 Park Ave...and 15 Penn.

Would be nice to see NYC ontop again with the largest building in the world, but other countries have more dictatorships where they can just spend all the country's wealth on a massive building. In a first world country it's hard to justify building one just to build one. It has been 12 years just for 1WTC to almost be finished...a building double the size...24 years?

WOW! It's amazing how far we've come in the last decade in terms of construction. The heights have pretty much double in that short time!

The mind Boggles

I already posted a picture of similar properties two pages back. Someone replied to it as well. Editing a picture is tough work, or at least editing a high-quality one is tough work.

Does anybody know what the rooftop height is on the Burj?? Kanto? Also great shot LouDaGreat, is that the old Yankee field by the new stadium? A lot of these Megatalls are doing it with their spires, ST looks more official because they don't use any spire just more bldg architecture to take it past 600. Rooftop level Is where I believe the counting should end? but thats just me and several others. Petrona's would be a baby compared to 1 wtc. Thanks Vertical Gotham I can't believe it's still there.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like it's taking a long time.

Also that pic is by N1CT4YL0R, NYCRulz posted it before me.

But yea, that's the footprint of the old Yankee Stadium.

Well, they're almost finished cladding the area where the West external elavators used to be. I think cladding should be done late this month or early May.
