the exterior from this angle is starting to look like the finished product. the cladding on the west side is progressing upwards like a game of tetris.
the gap which was on the northwest side is now gone.

I think it will look pretty good once everything is said and done. Still, the antennae should only be counted for pinnacle height. There is really no difference between this so called spire, and the antenna's on the Sears, and ESB. The idea that the WTC antenna missing a few wires suddenly makes it a spire is a ridiculous one.

personally i like the antenna, i wish it had a covering but i like it being skinny then the fat spire, and people who say its too tall, you act like you didn't see it in the renders or that the antenna got a height increase..you knew what to expect so that doesn't really make any sence to me.

This is what I've been waiting for, the glass to reach the roof

I don't know why anyone fauns over this building- if it was half the height it is now, it wouldn't even be very good filler. There is absolutely nothing interesting about it other than its location. I'm very disappointed with how this is shaping up.

And regardless of the design, it definitely is no taller than the original towers. And until the other two towers are built this is only one, where as at least the Twin Towers were two.

This whole damn project is a big joke from start to finish. The stingy in with everything and it has only continued since. They could not build a skyscraper at 1,776 feet high, it has to settle for 1,374 feet and then a spire of 400 feet. But they say this as I now say, I get called for everything under the sun but I do not care anymore because in which order it seems that the majority are lobbyists for this project in here so you have nothing bad to say. Then they trash talking at you

Also people should realize that 1 wtc mast is only going to be 50 feet taller then the north tower antenna, i don't remember anybody complaining about the north tower antenna being to tall.

It's skinnier and it tapers, of course it's going to look taller. Once the communications ring is finished, the cranes are removed and all of the extra rings on the spire are taken down it will compliment the tower much better.

i really love how the stainless steel cladding catches the light, you can easily make out the first piece at the top of the parapet on the west side from earthcam

Guys, 1WTC is not the pinnacle of the ever changing New York skyline. Maybe for the moment yes, but for the near future we already have taller towers u/c (432 PA) or in prep (225W57th). It's a natural process that it will be overtaken by other skyscrapers.
From Park Row Building to Singer Building to Metropolitan Life Tower to Woolworth Building to 40 Wall Street to Chrysler Building to Empire State Building to World Trade Center then back to Empire State Building to 1WTC to 432 PA to 225W57th. And who knows, maybe the latter will be overtaken by decade's end...

Good thing i express myself differently than you.

I only complain because it really does take away from the overall neatness of the tower.
