Nice find, though I wonder how much would an apartment in that building cost?

Really curious to see just how strong the beacon is at night. Heard it can reach 50+ miles with ease months ago, but hasn't it been scaled down?

Some of those skyscrapers on the southernmost tip of Manhattan are absolutely gigantic in terms of sheer mass.

there are very few places from which you can see the skyline from past 40 miles out. The sky is the only place you want to be if you can see it that late, unless you're an outdoorsman

Obviously not 50 miles away at ground level but in a higher elevation

This is insanely off topic, so please forgive me, but anyone know why the NBC screen in times square was removed a few years ago?

Yes thank you. Whenever I mention views from 38-50 miles or so of course I never mean ground level. You can't even see Manhattan from 10 miles away in spots right outside NYC on ground level! When I say that I mean from at least a 150+ ft height or so. The Fire Island lighthouse is 170 ft tall. Not sure how tall the Robert Moses Bridge is, but obviously shorter than that.

Not on the very next page they don't. It just clutters up the thread.

Get a picture! As soon as the lighthouse opens I know I'll be able to get a great distant shot of the WTC and ESB along with other taller buildings.
