They cant install a spire in any type of rain, even if its just a llittle. One tiny slip and the entie piece could fall off the spire and damage the platform, or even fall of the entire tower and then break... meaning we would need to order another piece and wait a few more months.

It's completely sunny right now though. Perhaps it's the 14 mph wind.... idk.

I remember the spire for Trump Tower Chicago took forever. They used a helicopter for it's construction. That was a long wait too.

If think this is a long time, wait until you see how long it takes the CTBUH to make a decision on whether to count the mast or not for the official height.

According to ironmike on Instagram the topping out ceremony is scheduled for May 8th so they probably won't lift it until next week

I was just having a quick look at WTC webcam thismorning now...(my time) when I noticed a free falling object to the left of the WTC about level with the roof ? It is too far off to have fallen from the tower or a crane ? I saw it falling from top of screen and it was level with roof when I took quick screenshot. My screen has a few marks on it which doesn't help ! Has there been reports of something of substantial size falling to earth in the NY area ? Sorry I know this may sound a bit lame but hope you can see it ? If I am scamming I would have done better : (

The object dropping vertically is in centre left...if it was a bird it must have been a huge dead Eagle ? No reference your your national symbol but a pigeon wouldn't have made the cut.

A knub, a stub and two incomplete towers. Sounds like a book title.
