I think when it's finally done and it starts to appear in movies and T.V shows with the rest of lower manhattan then ppl will know for a fact. Anyone notice before 9/11 in most movies & shows they will always show the twins with lower mahattan to represent New York before they get to Midtown. It'll be reverse once again.

Quoting myself as my question hasn't been answered yet. Is 1795 ft correct?

Oh sorry, forgot about your question in all of the chaos of this thread lately. The true pinnacle of the building will be in a height of 546 meters or 1792 feet according to CTBUH

French TV news spoke about the beacon too.

I don't know, maybe. But it's not on the very top, it's over the observation deck so maybe it's less exposed to wind (than if t was on the top of the 1WTC spire).
(Plus the flags on Brooklyn Bridge are exposed to wind too I think).

Pic by me:

Oh okay gotchya. Maybe they take them down whenever a hurricane or windstorm comes through. I heard the anemometer on top of One WTC topped over 120 mph during Sandy so a flag would be like.....vaporized lol

Although I don't mind the appearance of the antenna going up. I can see that in a harsh climate like New York with weather from heat to icy storms and snow could hasten corrosion on the antenna and need maintenance pretty often ? Maybe that gives people work...There is always a bright side.

PS Just looking at Live Earthcam....It's a blue sky out there in New York right now (9:40am ) even if it's the middle of the night here (23:40 )....so get and do some work, those cranes are not moving much ! I want to see the spire attached to the mast. Is there any 'official' word when that may be...

That's the PATH station. It will be removed once the Transportation Hub is complete.

Earthcams skyline cam shows that the glass is almost complete! Like, it could be finished on that side TODAY!

Incredible, that's the best render of the building I ever saw. Otie, you're a true master, the render is pure awesomeness

Btw, looks like I have a new wallpaper

Hey, guys. Incredible cladding progression on the NW facade today. Since yesterday, at least 20 more panels have been placed, and that side of the building looks nearly coplete.

How can they end cladding the 4 World Trade Center without any crane?
