I know people who work at the World Financial Center... Would that allow me to be able to get any closer then a regular person?

I'll be spending plenty of time at the WTC, and will try to gain access to 70 Pine Street's old observatory for some extremely rare shots.
I got up there, my moms friends husband works for them. That was before this thing was way up

A couple minutes ago was in some other forum about ST..it seems that over there, they don't really have a city planing. The taller the better is the only rule.
Infortunately for Shangai the result is that Pudong for example looks like more a fair or a universal exhibition than a financial district.Indeed, Shangai's skyline is really poor standard
They already had a bottle brush(Jin Mao tower tower)and a bottle opener(Shangai world financial tower)i don't know why the hell, they are now building something like a leek(Shangai tower)
Definitely, the more i look Shangai, the more I love Tokyo and New York.
It took years to see it raising but maybe that's why One WTC is such a brilliant and pertinent addition to the skyline

My wife works on the 47th floor of 3WFC, we might be able to help you out next time you're in the city. Maybe we could get a bunch of the NYC forumers together and have a "viewing party" up there, there's a large conference room facing the WTC site

Hahaha, I can already see how awkward it'd be when your wife tries to explain to her boss why her husband brought 20 skyscraper geeks up to her floor for a reunion.

That's actually a great idea. You can count me in!

Her boss has given permission for the conference room to be used for those kind of functions, free of cost. As long as it's not too many people, not during business hours, and we clean up afterwards. They've had weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, baby showers, etc up there in the past.

I did one up there back in 2003 when I was an architecture student at Cooper Union, got some of my classmates up there and we did nothing but draw plans for a rebuilt WTC.

Wow, that's really generous. I think it'd be totally worth it. I can make it the 16th, 17th, 18th, or the 19th of July.

Maybe you could do some fake house hunting in a condo or rental tower near the site. I got up to the silver towers pretty easy and the views of the river and midtown were great. AND FREE! Hahaha

This is a reply to Biagio's comment:

Did you write that on this thread will the sole purpose of getting likes??? The Shanghai skyline is a world leader and set the pace when it comes to diversity, innovation, futurism and elegance. Sure, some of the phenomenal skyscrapers might not in like a trees in a forest but, frankly, Shanghai's skyline looks like it was taken out of a SciFi movie. At night, the buildings are light up individually to produce a spectrum of colors which, sadly, you cannot find in New York

There is however one major fault that involves Shanghai. Environmentally, the city is a trash dump. Neither one of us would want to live there because of the toxic pollution.

Well that's that for the rant, and to bring this comment back to the topic of this thread, I agree that the One World Trade Center is a spectacular skyscraper and I am positive that it will restore the image of our great country !!!
