The beacon is inside it, the covering of the top part has ''windows''.

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for over 2-3 years and thought I'd join today, I'm 16 and from london and I'm so glad to finally be a part of this forum! I have so many pictures of the WTC to show you from my trip to NY last August/September. I'm so glad 1 WTC has topped out, it is such a stunning building and I look forward to it being completed! WELL DONE NEW YORK

In certain shots, it looks longer/taller than it does in renders

After all this time. Congratulations to the workers, to New York, and to the United States. Today is a great day. This was great news to wake up to. Now we're more than halfway back to having a completely restored skyline.

Today is a great day for us all! A great day for the city of NY. We are back. There was a time when people where saying that we would never build tall again in this city and we have.

My dads office was located in the original 2 WTC. Then re-located in the Empire State Building and for many years looking downtown there was a void. It was very noticable. For many years i could not even get my self to go down there because it was depressing. Now i can't wait to go down to see it finally topped out. Major props to the construction workers getting to this point. A very emotional and satisfying day for me.

Congrats NY! You know, I was thinking; the spire as it stands right now has really grown on me, and I think the beacon really tops it off well. The few bits of cladding around the beacon make it like the flame at the top of a tall candle, a flame over the entire WTC site to remember the lost. Looking at it in that way I think the final design is pretty good.

If the Spire had the radome white covering, IMO the spire would really stand out and dominate. I think its perfect the way it is.

Lol my boss was really pissed I got about an hour too late for work today. But it was totally worth it, I just had to see it live.

New York is finally back! And this is just the beginning ...

From World Trade Center Facebook Page.

Not sure if it has been posted, but take a look at one of the most beautiful photos of WTC topped out. Love this view with Midtown in background...
