No twin. Number one, this is NOT the original Twin Towers. This is a completely new WTC. It is supposed to represent rebirth, a renaissance, like a Phoenix who has risen from the ashes of destruction. The Twins are gone. This Tower is meant to stand alone as a solemn tribute to the memory of the twins, but it is also meant to revive the WTC with new life. The new design with WTC1,2, 3, and 4 is supposed to represent a spiral like design that flows to the Memorial Pools.

That's a very oblique way of saying they should have gone with Foster's proposal, which I think they should have done:

I like it a lot more, I think it would please more people. Heck, I think even Kanto would be pleased, it's 1763 ft without a spire (who knows, maybe it would have ended up 1776 ft anyway).

The design is okay, but it would be more fitting in somewhere like Los Angeles where it would've fit in with the new Wilshire Grand glass theme and unique beach setting that Los Angeles possesses. This design is a bit too flashy for the stoic nature of New York. New York has a very distinct "dominance and power" that Al Qaeda apparently hated so much.

432 Park, 1 WTC, ESB all fit the New York theme very well.

I completely agree with you. That design would have been a far better choice than what we're getting

All the twin design proposals were hideous. People just want any kind of twins variation for the sake of it, even if the design would ruin the overall view of the site.

I'm sure a lot of Londoners would have said the same thing throughout the 20th century and look what they are building now.

That's one of the ugliest things I have ever seen, almost as bad as the original "freedom tower" bleh

1WTC isn't dominent imo, it's pretty submissive.

I can go up to my roof and see it dominate the rest of the skyline. Even buildings like the Beekman, which isn't no pushover, look like a midget compared to it. You obviously can't compare one building to the overall raw power the twins had. Lets not forget, towers 2-3 will make a huge impact on the skyline aswell.

It would have been the ugliest building in the US. How Foster could design such a monstrosity baffles me.

Oh, ok. There have been so many imposter's lately, that I assumed he was another one with the shorter name and low post count. Guess I missed the thread telling us why he had to create another account. Anyways, disregard my post and carry on
