It's my intelligent relax. I like doing that when I have free time. It's interesting.
Thank for your question.

It looks to me like they've started to open some of the louvres on the base cladding, and it seems to be dramatically changing the color of the base cladding (for the better).
Can anybody who has walked by in the last couple of days confirm?

Yup, I saw on pics that a signifficant part of those louvers has been oppenend, however I still don't like the color of the base. I think it should have been either black or blue but not gray.

Cool, some one else noticed the streamer. I think its unbelievable how close in time the two pctures were taken. I give it a rough estimation of a 1.108X10^-5 or 0.00001108 seconds apart! Keep in mind that the lightning is only about .3 miles farther in the second image at the most compared to the first and lightning travels at 3700 miles per second. That's one third the time shift of a geosynchronous GPS satellite during one rotation of the Earth (in case you didn't know, time isn't constant).

I think you are right, they are using a man basket and both lines on the white crane and half of the platform where the basket is has disappeared.

About time they start removing the temporary Mast platforms, it's looking fresh and cleaner now.

Can't wait until the Fourth of July.

So when the lightning strikes the lightning rod on the new 1wtc. It provides some power to the building.

Energy is conducted all the way down to bedrock and ends into a counterpoise grounding system.

Mast to be lit on July 4th, stay tunned for short tests.
