South fašade has all glass panels placed. The entrance is undergoing work and some panels have yet to have the fins extended. The Southern portions of the East and West fašades are covered, and fins are being extended.

Thanks for the update. I must be the only person who cares more about the podium and lobby than the antenna/spire.

Those awesome photos show what a great looking building 1WTC is but I'd be lying if I said they didn't make me miss the twin towers.

That's only because there were two of them.

Good news, that continues to get better.

Yes, it's well known the twins are a bit wider than 1 WTC.

Lets also not forget the rest of the site isn't finished.

That's because other relatively tall buildings, such as 4WTC, Goldman, Beekman, etc, around the northern part of lower manhattan, wasn't built then. So the baseline height of the previous WTC above the skyline was a lot lower 10 years ago.

If you removed 4WTC, the new 7WTC (substantiall taller than the old one), 123 Wash, Goldman, Beekman, Barklay, etc; the new 1WTC would look just as tall as the north tower.

Probably because of the tapering.

Yeah! I am, kind of, keen on comparison and wanted to post such sort of comparison.
But can you believe it that it took me three hours approximately, trying to remember where I can find them and so on, for I had not bookmarked those links for I never knew I'd be doing this one!
If only, I had one extra hour to redeem that post.

Hey! Look to that 3 World Finance Center, and guess their proportion. In fact, only one of the twins wouldn't be more massive at the base (1 or 2 meters don't really affect our viewing so critically).
Plus When you see the new One WTC from perpendicular directions on four different sides they'd look huge indeed (almost equal to the sheer size of the Former North Tower), and from the angles it tapers, that indeed is slimmer because from oblique angles, it will have only ~43 meters of the side to view, whereas the twins had ~63 meters of viewing on both sides, that, however encloses inwards and making the twins look more massive, which is indeed massive...

Since these are taken from somewhat different perspectives, it gives the illusion of the old north tower being taller.

If you compare both of them to something of constant height, i.e. one chase manhattan further to the right of the pics, then they appear to be identical in height.

Just to clarify although i don't know why it's so puzzling for some of you: Taller=/= Bigger or else by this logic, 432 is bigger than 2WTC and 1WTC.
The old individual towers were massive in the sense that they were "bigger" by width and length than 1WTC and they didn't taper. I'm pretty sure the twins had the same roof height as 1WTC as well, so yeah, the twins were definitely bigger than 1WTC in every sense of the word.
