I've seen it from my house as well.

Strange that they change from using the red one.

Atleast the building is fully lit for next week!

in comparison, the light from the decorative beacon will be much larger and more powerful.

Is the red, blue, white illumination done to represent for the 4th of July?
Edit: Look at the earthcams, are they lighting the beacons?

I mean that the newyorkers wanted to rebuild the old ones rather than building these new buildings, obviously.

The old buildings wasnt even close as beautiful and this one also suits the rest of the city much better.

You've obviously never met a New Yorker. We are stubborn as shit and like our icons.

And that second sentence is in your opinion. Some of us disagree.

Absolutely. I definitely wanted the Twins rebuilt, bigger and better. But it didn't happen, so I moved on, as did most of us. It's only those nutty Twin Towers Alliance crusaders who still have delusions of rebuilding them. I do like this building because it is a visual reminder of the old 1 WTC with a nice modern appearance, and I think it will become an icon of the city just as the Twins were. But my first wish was definitely to have them rebuilt, it just didn't turn out that way.

Same here. At least we have our "marker in the sky" back, no more getting lost on the UWS

In ten years, this will become the New Icon of the free world, I'm sure. Instead of all the cheesy shit built in other countries and cities.

The worst of the building is that it doesn't stand in my hometown Zurich / Switzerland.

Greetings from there!

This tower looks like the deathly hollows too, you got the:
Pyramid, the communication ring on top of the tower, and the spire.
