So guy wires are next, then crane, then the side elevator, then remaining cladding, and by then it should be complete?

Don't they need the crane to lift the glass in place once the elevator leaves? And to hoist the window-washing equipment up to the lower ring?

The big crane which we see is not lifting glass. Itps there for heavier stuff

Besides, if the elevator would go down first, what would carry the big crane down to the ground?

Correct, last crane due to come down a week or so before 12th anniversary. East side hoist will remain through 2014 for Conde Nast fit out though it will be modified.

Don't they still need to install the vent hoods?:

The spire looks much better without those temporary platforms. Still ugly. But a little less than before.

Too bad the spire isn't going to be covered.

Thye vent hoods are massive, if they make them stylish it will only add to the bldg, if there just plain sheet metal, I think it will detract from the building,, hopefully they have some design to them, like the render above.

That poor spire. It needs a cover.

Those Broadscrapers are adorable! Nice to know somebody else is on the same creative wavelength as me, but my Skyscraper people seem to enjoy butt-kicking more than singing:

Here's Citicorp:

And One Penn Plaza- I would love to get my pic taken with the broadscrapers while wearing this:
http://ladyamanita.deviantart.com/ar...nate-277908270

I'm currently working on the San Remo of Central Park west, that one's going to be incredible.

I suppose I'll have to design a One WTC character now!
As for the way the Broadscrapers are sponsored, I remember a friend of mine suggesting that. I said I wasn't sure if that was a good idea- with somebody else's money might come loss of creative freedom and control.

Seriously. I was one of those who always said that I'd reserve judgement for this Mast until it was done. Well, it's done and it looks like it was designed for a building built in 1940. In fact, it was designed to be covered and hopefully that will happen someday. That is ugly. Still my favorite building though!

It is very beautiful. It is far better than the rendering, at last. I really like this building. It's the best of the New York City skyline.

Unless the design has changed since 2011, the roof will feature a permanent crane for maintenance and installation of various things like catwalks. The vent hoods could be lightweight sheet metal supported by a lightweight frame. The m760d will most likely lift the Kevlar guys to the roof where a pull line and winch will then lift the end into place. Besides, they couldn't use the crane for guys on the opposing side any way. Lastly, I think either Alan88 or the guy who posts on instigram said the crane was scheduled to be dismantled in the first week of August, even with delays, before mid August.
