Flickr's use makes sense when it's to illustrate or enhance an opinion,an information a debate.I keep thinking that posting five or more pics that are not yours without comment or purpose is vain and boring.I'm gratefull and thankfull for someone like Chibears or LAF2 who posts their own photo.
Just feel free to express my opinion, without hate or disrespect...

I do post my own photos too mostly for constructions in Malaysia because I live there but I also share those pics related to the construction that I found on flickr and I hope that it doesn't really matter.

As you should.

Mockai isn't making much sense. What, now I have to go out and buy an expensive camera just to post pictures? Please.

Sounds like discrimination.

And BTW, everybody, please keep posting pictures, even if they are not your own(site rules state you have to credit the original owner anyways). I am one of those people that never visit Flickr or any other photo hosting site, so without ALL of you guys, people like me would never get to see these incredible pictures. Thank you sooo much, and please keep them coming

Mockai fair point about the debating, its good to gauge others opinions and discuss them within the forum. But the pictures thing- what the hell? This thread is about an u/c skyscraper! Talking about it is fair enough, but how can people who aren't from NY talk about something they cant see?! If we are debating something, pictures are a necessity to back up our point. Your reasoning behind your post seems contradictory.

Oh and thanks NYdude, I really appreciate it! I'll look forward to seeing them

ps. sorry for the del for some reason my post got duplicated

Could we stop debating the merits of debating and get back to discussing the building?

Why is debating such a problem? Discussing the building by definition is usually agreement on both sides, obviously some people disagree with certain things about the building. I see no problem with that as it enables me (and others I'm sure) to see the building from someone else's perspective. I'm not saying it should happen all the time, but I don't see why the word debate sparks such problems with people. There's a difference between a friendly debate and blatant arguing....

It is totally refreshing watching how they are progressing with works on site.
you cannot compare the two, one complex had twins the other has 4 high rises and they both look great in lower manhattan, and if you want to compare the twins to 1wtc to tell you the truth, can't really tell the difference other than 1wtcs tapering. Please man the twins were gorgeous when they were built and the new complex will be just as beautiful so just drop comparing the two already!!...thank you.

When are they taking off the workers elevator by the side? This building is the best in New York city and perhaps the best in the world in term of its aesthetic nature.

Conde Nast has to fit out their floors before the external elevator is removed.

That should be completed by the end of the year.

I don't think ii is about the importance of the floors but ongoing works inside have to be finished before this external elevator will be removed from the side of the building. In other words, the interior of the building still needs to be completed before we will see this elevator brought down, probably, by next year.
