Today's skies remind me so much of the that cloudless
day on 9/11. Beautiful day.

I wonder if anyone will perform some sort of stunt on WTC 1, as Petit did in 1975 by walking on a tightrope between the towers, or Willig did in 1977 by climbing up the South Tower. But the NYPD would probably have very little tolerance of anything like those stunts after 9/11.

I remember going on a class trip to the top os the South Tower around 1977-78, and seeing George Willig's signature. Forgot about that for a long time. But then I came across a huge version of this pic on the Library of Congress website:

Sure enough, after zooming in, I could see Willig's signature. What a flashback to the late 1970s!

For those who aren't familiar with Willig:

As for tightrope walking, that probably wouldn't be possible even after 2 WTC was built, given the height differential.

That's awesome. Is he the same guy ('Spiderman'?) who scaled Sears back in 1999?

No, this is the real Spiderman. Not to take anything away from George Willig, but Alain is just pure nuts And very good at it I might add

I bet he regrets every day that he didn't climb the original WTC before it was destroyed.

Yeah, I'm sure he would have loved to put that on his resume. Honestly he hasn't been treated very well from the U.S. since the 90's. I know he has been arrested in the U.S. a few times throughout the 2000's, but I think he has a no trespass order against him for pretty much everything over 10 feet tall in the U.S. He may even be banned from entering the country as he is in a lot of places around the globe. It's too bad because if there was ever a ticket I would buy, it would be to see him climb 1WTC live

I think that lighting looks really beautiful and is a colorful addition that would add great character.
