When I find out when they actually ARE expected to turn them on, I'll make a new post.

But maybe they'll bring this array permanently into the Memorial Park at some point.

I was getting ready to ask for pictures of the lighting sources. Thanks desertpunk
Just as I suspected, this isn't your normal, 110v lights, plugged into an extension cord. It would be impossible to position those exactly in the Memorial Pools without ruining them. Even to put them in the Memorial Park, although a great idea, would be a task in its self. They really do take up a lot of space. They are beautiful though

Hopefully once this complex is finished people will move on with 911 and just let it become a part of the history books. Sadly the lives and towers were not the only things lost, but also the sanity of the security agencies that control society.

I think what Thatoneguy is trying to elaborate is that we can move on progressively as a society away from hyperparanoia and obscene security measures and back to a more healthy and peaceful life.

We've seen it. In tens of thousands pictures over the past 10 years. Very very interesting and educative process for every architecture and engineering lover.

People can move on and still remember. You don't have to be that black and white.

Of course nobody will ever forget that this happened, but the current mentality has made the post-9/11 world extremely paranoid. We shouldn't let an event that happened 12 years ago shape how we live our lives today. We should learn from the past, not be defeated by it. A sane world is what the victims would have wanted.

911 was a tragedy behind human belief. Regardless of who you think was responsible for it, the souls of thousands at this site remain. It's a shame that this happened and could not have been prevented. So I hope and pray that tragedies like these can be avoided.

Rest in Peace to the victims and their families.

Sure is weird having a birthday in this city and on this day.

May the victims rest in peace. My thoughts are with their families.
