What if the WTC North Twin Tower didn't collapse and the rest of the towers were just destroyed would they have just built the new world trade center around it and just the south pool, and the new 1WTC being 2WTC.
PS: I'm glad the old 7wtc collapse because it just didn't make its mark on the WTC and on the skyline, I like the new 7WTC way better and you can see it in the skyline and fits into the new WTC.

There was a lot of speculation about that after 9/11. Most agree that the North Tower would have been demolished. It was too severely damaged to save even if it still stood.

Holy Cow!! Imagine if the old towers were really that big, and had the reflective cladding like the new 1WTC

Yeah, at the worst possible angle, and mostly blocked

I have but 1 previous post here, but as a lifelong New Yorker that hopes the entire WTC is finished soon so I can have office space, I wanted to share my reflection.

http://opmaex.wordpress.com/2013/09/...ecialists-llc/

Here's hoping they finally light that spire soon. I am looking forward to posting my first few photos tomorrow.

Not a very wise choice of wording. By claiming that you are "glad" that WTC7 collapsed sounds a bit cold and somewhat sadistic and unsympathetic to the events. I'm aware that's not your intention and I do agree that the original WTC7 was dull and boring in design. However, I am not glad that both towers and it had collapsed.

I find it somewhat disgraceful, disrespectful and brutally tasteless that the spire and beacon were not lit tonight in tribute to those fallen victims.

I have to agree. There's really only 2 days a year that could really pay tribute, and that is either July 4th(for the entire U.S.), or September 11th(for the fallen victims and families) and they missed both What were they thinking? Or not thinking about? Pretty disappointing if you ask me.

Oh well, there is always October 11th.

I saw it in the flesh for the first time this weekend (quick weekend in NY), but I wasn't too impressed tbh with the building or the memorial. It's an OK tower, that is all I can say. Too conservative for my liking and I don't like the transition from the base to the tower portion. The memorial just depressed me and left me wanting The naked spire is rather disgusting. An ugly naked cell-phone/broadcast tower is not the way to top off the tallest building in the city and If I had loved one's killed there I would be outright insulted that they didn't complete the design as first conceived.
