They should put up strip lighting on the venting to prevent too dark a blotch occuring at night on the mech floors.

Agreed. The mech floors are painfully obvious at night and detract from the dominance of the tower when they're dark.

Yeah some subtle vent lighting would be a nice touch. Nothing too garish though.

Great to see you back, Kanto!

I'd like it if they lined the stainless steel edges with lights, like Centennial Tower in Atlanta.

Very cool video from the other day with some great views of the site as well as interior views on 1WTC lobby and 4WTC lobby.

All 8 triangles outlined like that? I wonder if that would appear good or bad, may look too much like Shanghai or Hong Kong...interesting

I was wondering about that dark strip near the top at night too, guess that is from the mechanical floors..They need to light that up, it looks weird without any lights there. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. I haven't been following it very closely of late, is the beacon lit at night? They should light the top a bit better to really set the building off better & accentuate the spire, it looks awfully dim in some of the photos. Amazing to think that tenants will be moving in next year, almost finished!

sad...the spire Looks at the end unfineshed...the pure steel design is ugly...the former plan to make a White spire is gone...sad...very sad....so it's just an antenna and not a part of the buildung :-(

the spire will eventually become most's favorite part of the building at night when it and the beacon are lit.

Earthcam made an awesome timelapse of 9/11/13 from sunrise to nighttime with the tribute in light.

I don't like how the base looks like a totally different building from the rest of the tower. I think they could have integrated it more by alternating base "fin" cladding and window panels on the first floor above the base. It would have been easy, just fill in those alternating "holes" with fins instead of windows. Although the views would be obstructed on that floor. Aesthetically it would have looked cool.

I had to look twice to make sure it was real. (or is it real?) You dont see this angle too much where it looks like it's square like the twins. Nice shot!
