New design's better than old. If the second will be taller than 600m, it's great.

It has EVERY color. The fixtures are RGBW (red, Green, blue, white) LED lights and are DMX controlled. With RGBW fixtures, you can control what percentage of each color you want from each fixture and mix it however you program it, to get whatever color or combination of colors you want.

The lights look incredible. I can't wait until they'll be on on a daily basis. Thanks for letting us know Captain

Oh my goodness! It looks like TheCap'n's right! If they're testing the spire now, they have to light it up on the 30th (or anyday now). But what if this wasn't a test?

I can't believe this is happening! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE! (not really, but still )

But my main question is: was this a test? Or was this the real deal?

it was a test, it only lasted for about an hour or so. Still, that's much longer than what they did before in July.

Aw. So when are they going to light it up for real? And is the reason why the test lasted for an hour because they needed to see how long it would last?

And by the way...

Did anyone snap pictures of the tower's "lighthouse" scheme? I've seen one video of it in July, but before everyone was saying, "they're going to light it like a lighthouse by rotating it!"

The PA is just DUMB.

Yes, the beacon was lit for a short time as well. It was turned off before the lighting was turned off.

Aw. Anyway, this was a great test. Soon we can compare the renderings to the real lighting!

I hope they light up the building like this at some point:

And I have a question: Will the building itself be lit up red?

No offense, but why are those pictures of old(er) people looking at One World Trade? Are they interested in Architecture?

Obviously, it is a very big, iconic and most of all, symbolic building going up in Manhattan, so any person doesn't have to be particularly enthusiastic about architecture specifically, to look at it with interest, curiosity and wonder...
