10,000 billion is 10 trillion, or almost the size of the United States GDP. I'm pretty sure that was a joke.

It's a beautiful lighting scheme on its own, but in the photos take with the midtown lightshow going on, it seems like one crazy color splotch too many. It's too Shanghai/Hong Kong for my taste, and I hope they keep it white basically all the time except for special occasions.

Since 1 WTC is partially owned by Durst, I would not be surprised if there's a 3-way nightly LED light-show between 1 WTC, BoFA tower and 4 Times Square. Durst will definitely not be subtle about showing off his most prolific property.

I really like 1WTC, I wasn't sure at first but now that it's almost done, it fits very well. It reminds of the Twins in it's basic shape & height but also is unique in it's own way. I agree it will look even better when balanced with 2WTC & 3WTC, but just adding 2WTC will really balance it well visually. 1WTC won't be fully open until 2015, & I predict it will be a huge attraction, success, & moneymaker once it gets going, & therefore there will be a lot of demand for the area & it will hopefully speed up building 2WTC. Hopefully, once companies see the draw of 1WTC, that will create buzz & demand for 2WTC to be built. I also really like Foster's design for 2WTC, it will be a nice companion for 1WTC & fill in the gap a bit. I hope 2WTC will be built & completed by around 2016-2017 or so.

[QUOTE=aquablue;107671999]The lack of those two towers really makes a difference. It looks too sparse now, really needs WTC2[/QUOTE

Personally, I think it looks less sparse now than it did in 2001. But ye, it needs 2WTC, definitely.

It needs a tower in a similar height, but I'm not sure if Tower 2 will pull that off. IT's shape from some views is very off-putting

The good thing about it is that in 2001, the only supertall games in town were the Twins & the Empire State Building, nothing else. Today we have a new WTC, 432 Park rising fast, One 57, & possibly 225 West 57th which would be an immense tower if built. So several supertalls either under construction or planned.

I think Foster's 2WTC will mainly serve to set off 1WTC, and draw the eye to it. The slanted design of 2WTC's roof was made I think to somehow reflect light onto the 9/11 pools at certain times.

1WTC needs a companion, but since they aren't building a twin of it, Foster's 2WTC will have to do. Adding 3WTC to the group (hopefully before 2020) will also make the site look more cohesive.
