Is there a way to find out what model camera took this picture? Is it yours?

Do you think they will light it up in red, white, and blue for patriotic holidays? How about green for St. Paddy's Day? Maybe red and and green for Christmas? Or get this: rainbow colors for Gay Pride??? The Empire State does!

7WTC is 1WTC closes companion, since 1WTC was built on the footprint where the original 6WTC stood, and 7WTC was built on the footprint of the original 7WTC, both of those footprints are closer than the original 5WTC once stood which the new 2WTC Is getting built on top of.

I think Foster's 2WTC will mainly serve to set off 1WTC, and draw the eye to it. The slanted design of 2WTC's roof was made I think to somehow reflect light onto the 9/11 pools at certain times.

1WTC needs a companion, but since they aren't building a twin of it, Foster's 2WTC will have to do. Adding 3WTC to the group (hopefully before 2020) will also make the site look more cohesive.

Well, from that point of view, you are correct. And yes, let's get back on topic.

Now a couple of even taller towers in lower Manhattan- a la Shanghai, and NYC takes the cake once again.

I still can't believe how beautiful is Gehry's tower. Great proportions, great materials, great architecture.

Your right it doesn't belong in this thread but you just sound ignorant. Your comparing a group of people looking for their basic human rights that they are denied to a group of people (The KKK) who murder and terrorize for their beliefs. Incomparable.

Anyway, the North side of the base is almost done being clad. Only a matter of time before they wrap around the east side again. Also a good friend of mine's brother who works for the Port said they aren't 100% sure yet but most likely then not the east west connector will open sometime by the end of November. But not are not positive yet. Did get to see a few pictures from the escalators down and boy is it a beaut down there.

It's just so very recently we got some three supertalls, 4 wtc inclusive. Before these babies popped up, I was like, Oh, when will we ever get some sweeping new giants... well, I'll wait. I think back on the times, when I proudly reclined on the crutches that 8 Spruce Street provided me. I was elated and light in my heart, how great a creation we are lucked out to behold. How easily you discard the tower that grabbed not only awards but so many of our hearts!!! You really see things at some feet ahead, not miles...

I've gotta say the New WTC has grown on me, even though the twins hold a firm standing in my heart, these are a fantastic set of buildings. The only thing i don't like is how 2wtc from some angles mostly blocks the view of 1wtc.

Awesome. Which buildings are real architectural masterpieces according to your taste?
