How will the mechanical floors differ in appearance from regular floors once the LEDs are installed? Will it be lit differently or look seamless, as though all floors are occupied?

All that being said the Council is not independent. The whole council is made up of people directly working in the industry. There is a serious conflict of interest in the council since many of these construction, engineering and architectural firms they work for have intertwined working relationships. There is no way they would screw the firms working on one WTC and keep their jobs no matter how respected they are. Their decisions directly affected their employers so they would not rock the boat.
I don't understand how your second paragraph supports or even contributes to the idea you are trying to express. I was not discussing the political aspect of the decision, but rather challenging the criteria. I exhorted a revision as a result of the increasing impracticality, not as a reaction from the decision.

those renderings aren't entirely accurate. I'm hoping the end product will be more like this:

where the mechanical levels are lit and the observation levels don't stand out as much because of it

Damn... stop complaining about a decision that has been made and is now permanent in a matter of fact. I thought it would bring some peace about 1WTC.

Try to appreciate the building for what it is... and to ease the pain and sorrow:

This is 'the best' in office buildings what we have to cope with for now... We like to build large amounts of low-rise office buildings that stay empty without tenants for years and years, and in the mean time build some extra buildings just for the fun of it....

Amsterdam | Rembrandt Tower | 135m | 35fl

(I guess we can make a note about that antenna.... omg.... that means it is even lower... )

Exactly2WTC is just as important to be built as 1 in my eyes, I'm surely glad 3 is resuming, but I'd have double the joy if that were 2 with it's initial height as planned.

In what color will the spire be lit? On the renders it's normal light witch look classy! But during the tests it was always different colors, a bit like a rainbouw lollypop... But that is just my opnion. I haven't seen it lit in a normal way yet...

Dichroic glass will be held inside the square hole of the wall. Blast walls will receive the same type of ornamental glass on the south face.

White on normal nights. Multi colors for holidays and special occasions.

So why is it that they could not stretch the roof to 1776 ft? The Chinese are doing buildings that tall all over the place....and God bless them for it.

You have to realize that this building was suppose to be completed YEARS ago.

Long before those "chinese" buildings were though of.

Design changes(one which shows a tower over the current 1,368 height}

God bless we didn't get those other designs. Because what's more cheating of height than having an open wind turbine on the top of a building? Spire/mast/antenna is enough.

The August 2003 design with the wind turbine turned into floors would have been the best in my opinion. 2000 feet of pure building, what is not to like?
