It's now Dec. 2013 which means Christmas is right around the corner! Does anyone know if it will be lit up again like a Christmas tree? Last year when it was, it looked absolutely beautiful!

I don't think it will happen annually. I might happen this year but don't get you hopes high. Once they take all the temporary lightning down, it will not happen anymore. Workers used colored cellophane to do this. Thanks workers and Five Star Electric for this

You need to stop responding, I said how I felt now you can leave it alone. Didn't even sound like humans in the first place.

Anyways, I got some photos of the beacon I forgot to post from Morris County a little while ago- will post asap..also saw the spire from Florham Park~22 miles away

Building tall buildings has nothing to do with a country's power. Just look at Europe. Most major cities have a few skyscrapers, but the cities are mainly historical. No country in existence has a building with a highest occupied floor of over 1,968 feet, the megatall minimum. Megatalls don't matter, supertalls don't matter, and skyscrapers don't matter. All they typically reflect is a lack of space from a city that has a very small land area or is bound by water.

I totally agree with you. Only two cities in Europe have supertalls: London (1) and Moscow (3).

NYC has a 2,000 foot height limit which impedes any major designs

I believe it's the entire U.S. that has the FAA height limit, correct?

I'd also like to add that the Burj Khalifa cost only $1.5 billion compared to a probable $4 billion for 1WTC alone now. Costs in the US are very expensive, and commercial towers aren't immediately paid off by tenants, it's a process. Whereas the developers of 432 Park will have earned a profit of $1.1 upon building completion presumably in 2015, the Empire State Building for example took 18 years just to pay off the construction costs, and even today approximately 50% of its annual revenue comes from its observatory alone. If an office building doesn't have an observatory, it's much more difficult and timely to pay off the construction cost. Be patient, we'll see some near megatalls soon seeing as how well the residential market is doing. Don't forget the Old Post Office Redevelopment in Chicago is approved at 2,000 feet already.

My gosh... Nowadays even Saudi Arabia builds large buildings, and they are far from the list of the 10 greatest potential in the world. I also like big buildings bro, but height is not everything.

I was at the site this morning and the spire was creating a cool optical effect, casting a shadow onto moisture in the air.
