But the windows aren't installed. Not a single floor has the window set complete...

They have all those windows missing where the construction elevator is. With a strong wind coming from the right direction, it's easy to see how there can be an effect similar to blowing over the top of an open pop bottle.

I'm sure all the "eerie sounds" go away once they finally dismantle the construction elevator and place those final windows - in what, another decade or so?

You really think a taller Art Deco building surrounded by a sea of other buildings similar in appearance would stand out more than a glass monolith like 1WTC?

Original Art Deco has been dead since WW2. I'm sure I will get crap for this.

It looks so much like the North Tower viewed from the side is this picture!

There were attempts at a few revivals here and there around the world, but there's really little demand for it.

hmmm, here it is again. What i've noticed is that when the sound happens its not only windy but theres also a lot of moisture in the air, ie clouds or fog

It's either the fact that not all the windows are put in, or the spire.

A couple windows aren't going to make a difference, or produce a sound that loud.

And how would the spire create that noise? Doesn't make sense.

I used to live in an apartment complex with several 30 story towers really close to one another. When the wind picked up, in between the towers acted like a wind tunnel and it would absolutely howl. The wind blowing between 1 world trade center and other buildings is whats causing the sound.

Don't think it can beat the higher pitch howling sound of the Beetham Tower in Manchester, England

But it could be to do with multiple gaps or fins anywhere left unfinished, as at the top of the Beetham Tower is a large 20m tall fin which is built like a cage with multiple holes causing the noise

Can't it also be the vents? Air goes in one end comes out the other in the little slots?
