Gawd 8 Spruce is ugly. Ruins the view of the WTC ...

Ruins the view of the Brooklyn Bridge too. What a shame.

What's wrong with you, dude?
Same old reprimand against what is one of the most creative architectures of all the time!
Get it, it's rightfully sitting there, deserving every bit of what it takes for that position in LM.

The only beef I have with 8 Spruce Street is that it blocks out the Woolworth Building from certain angles, and even that doesn't annoy me that much.

It seems like they are only dismantling the upper part of the external elevator...

It's actually quite good IMO except for the top. All that raw concrete. It would habe been stunning if it had a pointy spire.

The only person who did worse to Lower Manhattan than Frank Gehry was Osama Bin Laden.

The external elevator will remain where there are office floors so the tenants can move in the big equipment.

I like seeing the plaza covered in snow. It makes you think you're out in the woods when in reality, you're completely surrounded by tall buildings!

Well you misunderstood what I was saying...the whistling during Sandy came from the uncovered structure, that was known. But the whistling won't stop if the spire isn't covered also, the cages will cause additional whistling. That is what I meant
