The advertising ban applies to people shilling their own products- so if somebody from wrebbit started posting here telling people "Check out our puzzles and buy them", that's not cool. But a satisfied customer posting about it because it's relevant to the discussion, that's a whole other thing.

I like its view in this angle, looks awesome. And the spire is beautiful too.

It's not as imposing looking as one of the Twins but it's certainly more beautiful.

I know some will continue to view it merely as an ugly by-product of the VE phase but I for one still think the spire works exactly as was built. The delicate profile of the exposed structure is better (for me) than the more bloated cigar shape of the originally designed clad spire, especially when taken into context with the rest of the city.

It may be utilitarian, it may be a height cheat...but look around this city and you will see form following function can still create beauty.

One wtc is a great tower, but it looks so empty at it's top at night time ( no light's at mechanical floors and above the observation deck to the parapet) that looks like it has much less floors than what really has.

When the building is completed I think it will be brighter up there.

Hopefully it will be visible in this picture. You can see the lights of Times Square pretty well from here, so I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that 1 WTC's beacon will be noticeable from this distance as well.

All images are from my blog, http://urbanismvsmodernism.blogspot....y-2262014.html

The color change in the new glass creates a silhouette of the roof and spire.

I agree completely. To each his own but I never liked the unicorn horn... and frankly, it resembled a joint. Always thought it was too much mass for the top of this building. Plus, you know damn well that people would look at that building and call it the "unicorn" or "joint".

The current mast looks just like most masts in the city and the building as a whole is a perfect blend of modern/resemblance to old WTC/honoring NYC's classic architecture.
