Now they will probably add lasers like in the movie Entrapment.

Pfffff, some security if a 16 year old could sneak in there. Too bad Tower 2 wasn't there, he might have pulled a Philippe Petit.....

Just imagine if that teen happened to be some sort of terrorist and had done something to the site. Thankfully, that didn't happen. It's very scary to think something like that could've happened just because of a stupid security guard.

That's too bad, I would have loved to have seen those pictures. It was a stupid move on his part but I would have expected better security post 9/11. Kid's got balls though......

This kid sneaking into One WTC unnoticed could perhaps implement those security plans to turn the WTC into a heavily guarded Fort Knox....

Actually, it is post 911 paranoia that has allowed the nanny state.

The spire is changing colors and podium lights are going through different patters.

Look...it is human to explore...remember the french guy who walked a wire between the old towers...in my own city I used to climb every new building or bridge under construction...got caught a couple of times but just got told off...I know 9/11 changed everything...such a shame but reality.

Kids have always and will always sneak into places they shouldn't be at night. Nothing has changed in that regard. We will have to find a different scapegoat for our living in a security state.

Personally, I don't think that changing the security protocol is needed. On an active construction site of this scale, no amount of security will prevent a motivated individual from walking around for a bit without being detected.

But yeah, punish the kid for trespassing and at least demote the guard for being asleep.

The guard was fired and the kid faces up to 90 days in prison for a misdemeanor.

I think that incident really brings to light how much the feeling of security can sometimes just be a big illusion.

The kid's brave. I know if I tried that I'd be scared stiff.
