First I heard about the jump until now. You gotta love it...it was almost as audacious as that high wire act on the twins so long ago. But you do have to wonder about security. The roof was dark as a dungeon. You would have thought they would at least have cameras and maybe motion sensors up there...

The spire lights have been weird the past few nights. On EarthCam it looks like only the bottom half is lit. Odd

Seriously, and they couldn't install radome either, they missed out on the most important things

While the video was awesome it's kind of unnerving that not only can a 16 year old kid trespass but a bunch of people can get through and base jump?

WTF is wrong with skyscraper security, not only here but Shanghai Tower as well when that was scaled.

All perfectly legit discussions about the security aside, this footage is amazing! But it is also a bit terrifying considering that this was an incredibly dangerous endeavor (again casting all valid points about the security aside). It almost seems as if the first jumper must have landed somewhere in the Hudson River and the third jumper is later seen somewhere below the second jumper in mid-air. I'm no expert but it certainly looked like his chute opened incredibly late.

Also keep in mind that one of the base jumpers was an iron worker at the site so from a security standpoint, it make me a little less uncomfortable knowing that.

So, are the yellow sticks on the communication rings permanent? I think the top still looks a bit unfinished because of them, really hope they will eventually take those down.

I am absolutely disgusted about the PA suing that poor kid. In my opinion he should receive a reward because he helped the security of the building. Without him sneaking into the building, the security would stilll be on the laughable "pre-sneaking" level and an actual terrorist could sneak in there at any time. I never understood how somebody can sue a hacker or a tresspasser who hasn't stolen or damaged anything. I mean those folks are doing the owners of the property (be it virtual or physical) a favor, they are "beta testing" their security and knowing about a leak is the first step of closing that leak. If I would be in charge of the PA I would give that kid a huge reward

Well, the decision they made was probably by emotion, not logic. Think about it. If a random stranger just waltzed into your house because he thought it looked nice, would you thank him because he "helped your security?" Although I do think this is a bit of an overreaction, because he's only 16 and he didn't have a destructive motive.

I wouldn't be happy about such a visit but in my opinion personal living space is one thing and an empty office tower is a completely other thing. I think here the security benefits outweight the bad feeling of an intrusion

There was actually one part of Assassins's Creed where you had to jump out of 1WTC at night with a parachute.

I know. I just couldn't make another comparison that seemed close. But anyway, I think it must have embarrassing for them to have people intrude their building twice while it was under construction. But you're right. They really shouldn't sue the kid.
