They didn't spend any money to cover their antenna. Would you really be surprised if they didn't spend any money to put empty disk enclosures on the ring?

But it would be way cheaper and physically feasible.

Transmitters and telecomms stuff is dirt cheap. There's no reason not to load it up. It's the tallest point in the city.

I'm taking my best guess, but I guess the elevator will be removed about a few weeks from now (if they decide to remove the whole thing.) If not, it'll take less time, but it'll still take a couple of weeks.

They're only removing it to the 63rd floor, so about halfway.

Dirt cheap!? Not at all. Installations in the tens of millions of dollars should be expected.

Space for tv, radio, phone, emergency services and other antenna arrays will be leased to those who are willing to pay big money for it. I'm not aware of any building in the world that has fake telecom gear to make the antenna mast symmetrical. Are there any examples of that?

The lobby may seem narrow, but those particular pictures make it look smaller than it really is.

That changes nothing. It is still narrow. Compare the size of people for reference.

You can't see a difference between a mock Fiberglas disk which costs, what, $100?

It's funny how there was this big design competition for this World Trade Center Tower; and what ended up being built is something completely different than what won the competition.

Fosters kissing towers design was favored during the competition by the public at the time.
