Here she is in The Amazing Spider-man 2 vidya game

not entirely accurate, and definitely outdated, but she's there...

Are you sure it's from the new movie tie-in game? It's a bit odd to see Spidey in his 2099 costume (nerd alert!) and this looks nothing like One WTC, the environment doesn't really fit either. But if this really is the representation of the tower in the new game, they got it all wrong. The topped out building is clearly visible at several points in the movie, shouldn't the environment in the game kind of resemble the movie?

It's definitely the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game, it's just one of the unlockable suits you can get.

From what I've seen, the city map is quite a bit more detailed an expansive than before but this game was apparently designed with the previous console generation in mind so with the development focused on the PS4/XBOne, we may see larger and more accurate open world games.

With that being said, the game's 1 WTC resembles a Twin Tower more and it isn't tapered enough.

Hm, interesting. Well, it doesn't look bad. It's just that the whole area isn't very recognisable. Without the aerial shot and the fragment of the map, I wouldn't have been able to tell that this is supposed to be the financial district. The building could just as well be a fictional Midtown supertall under construction. The windows are spot on though and the slight tapering at the edges is supposed to be the tip-off I guess. The Spider-Man 2 game which came out 10 years ago, tiny as it may have been in scale compared to newer entries had a pretty accurate depiction of Manhattan, at least concerning its famous landmarks.

I've seen so many pictures of WTC1 here and it appears so different between them, some where it looks fat and others when it looks more skinny. This obviously is due to contingencies relating to the camera, uploading the pictures, my computer screen etc. I think I'll only know its true proportions if I see it in person.

I think it rather depends on the angle and the distance from which you look at it. From my own experience: It looked massive and lean when I entered Manhattan through the Williamsburg Bridge, it also had the same effect when I looked at it from any location north of Soho, especially when seen from the ESB observatory. But when I looked at it from the pedestrian area on the Brooklyn Bridge, it was a bit subdued by all the other tall buildings in Lower Manhattan and it also appeared to be a bit broader in width. And looking at it from the plaza of 7 WTC made it almost seem as if tower 7 was taller. It's really a matter of your point of view, when there are more tall buildings that obstruct your view on the bigger picture, it will look a bit "fatter" and a bit more condensed in height but if you have a clear view onto a vaster environment, it will look "slimmer" and taller (that's why aerial shots are so popular, they provide you with the bigger picture). It also depends on the light that is cast onto its facade.

In addition to that, the sides of the building either look straight or sloped depending on the viewing angle. Obviously it looks taller when the sides are straight and shorter when they are not.

You know that rumor that the beacon can be seen up to 50 miles on a clear night? Well, I went to New Jersey, about 50 miles Southwest of Lower Manhattan, and indeed, I could see the beacon, but very faintly. It wasn't very noticeable, but I could see it.

I think this is a stupid question, but does the beacon rotate anymore? I know it's supposed to, but I haven't have the time to check, and on the statue of liberty cam it doesn't seem to be rotating.

I think there's an issue, I can't see it from the north every night anymore.

IF the beacon doesn't rotate every night once it's completed I am going to SCREAM. I would prefer that it isn't only lit white on non-special occasions. I would like it if it just randomly changed from one solid color to another solid color, like the Bank of America Tower and the Conde Nast Building. Or it could have any sporadic color on non-special nights, like the Empire State Building.

I'm not asking for a laser lights show and/or "asian lighting", I'm just asking for some of the spire's capabilities to be exposed for tourists on all nights, especially the beacon. And by the way, does the beacon itself only have the capability of being lit white?
